Yesterday, the head office of Rijk Zwaan in the Netherlands was visited by Dr. Namanga Ngongi, the president of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).

AGRA focuses on the support of smallholder farmers in Africa. Because the activities of this organization have a lot in common with the work of RZ Afrisem, AGRA and Rijk Zwaan have already been in contact for a few years now. After the visit to De Lier of chairman Kofi Annan in 2008, this time Rijk Zwaan had the honor of welcoming president Ngongi.

The main subject of the meeting was how both organizations can cooperate with each other on a very practical scale. This not only concerns the development of new varieties and training of farmers, but also how to organize the local sales of the grown products.
